This didn't deter Van Moorsel, Kupfernagel, Desbouys and Lowenguth from destroying the bunch, opening a sizeable gap and establishing the overall contenders, with 2 stages remaining. Van Moorsel took the honours yet again up-front, establishing more time on the now small group of contenders. The Aussies spent the stage teams time-trialling for the chase, and without much help from the rest, had tired considerably by stage end. Alison Wright suffered a fall on a wet slippery corner, regained her composure and continued. Shortly after she decided to stop, still suffering from fatigue from an arduous Tour de France Feminin only 10 days previously. Tomorrow's finale to the tour includes the morning stage finish on the St. Armand de Montrond velodrome, where the World Cup round finished in '98. Van Moorsel looks unstoppable, with strong support from her team, and a solid preparation for the Olympic road competition in 3 weeks.
