Stage 3 - September 1: Nérondes - La Guerche Sur l'Aubois, 114.4 km

Strike three

Early on in stage three, cross-winds had the field split along the road, with the leader Leontien Van Moorsel and Hanka Kupfernagel in the top group. The time went out to 18 seconds before the Australian team closed it back up. The second part of the stage was not as aggressive, with riders still feeling the affects of the hard start for the day. Fiona Dwyer (AIS Australia) suffered a minor fall when she clipped a rider in front, but soon regained the bunch.

Leontien Van Moorsel again dominated the finish, with the Overall Classification unchanged going into stage 4.
