Brief

33 years old Uwe Ampler won the Peace Race for the fourth time, nine years after three consecutive wins as the East German amateur at the end of the communist era in the years 1987-89. This year's race has been dominated by a dramatic battle between Polish team Mroz and German Telekom which was probably finally won by Mroz, lead by German and former Telekom rider Ampler.
