He came 58th and said afterwards "I am giving myself a year. I do not know what I can do and what the consequences of the chemotherapy will be." Robbie McEwan won this stage into Seville with a blistering finish in the mass sprint. The time of 4.02.42 for the essentially flat circuit of 157.8 kms around the Southern Spanish province was pedestrian to say the least. There were no bonifications award on this stage and so the GC is the same as the stage results. McEwen also holds the points jersey. France's Philippe Gaumont (Cofidis) leads the King of the Mountains competition after going of the top of the Cat 3 Cuesta de las Dobles, in first place. The big hills are yet to come however. |
