  • Neutral Support is awake and working several hours before the race starts, to ensure that wheels are pumped up and in working order.
  • Gord Fraser (HealthNet) gets ready to defend the Leader's Jersey.
  • Estape (Tepos) waits for the start of the race.
  • The race began with a several mile neutral start through the town of Silver City, NM.
  • After 6 miles, 10 racers managed to break away, causing the Trek All Stars to chase.
  • The field rides through a rolling portion of the course, about halfway through the race.
  • The break sprints for the 2nd Sprint of the day.
  • Jeffrey Hartmann (Trek All Stars) takes his turn pulling. The Trek All Stars did an amazing job of single-handedly chasing down the break, allowing Drew Miller to take the win.
  • Jacob Rubect hands out a little bit of lunch to the team.
  • The peloton descends through a particularly scenic portion of the course.
  • A small crash required some help from support.
  • Travis Brown gives up his back wheel to one of the Trek All Stars.
  • Shortly after, he probably wasn't sure that was such a good idea.

  • The race caravan rolls out in a neutral start.
  • The Trek All Star team does an excellent job protecting race leader, Drew Miller, from the strong winds that prevail this morning.
  • Ron Hudson (Sportsbook.com) took off before the first climb. He managed to stay away for 30 minutes, before being caught by the field.
  • Gord Fraser (Healthnet) then jumped at about 55 miles into the 105-mile course, and stayed away all the way into the Gila Cliff Dwellings turnaround.
  • An elite lead pack of about sixteen riders, with Drew Miller (Trek All Stars) stationed at the front, caught Fraser (Healthnet).
  • Miller (Trek All Stars) & Estapa (Tecos) opened up a gap shortly before the feed zone.

Images of the renovation of the Frisco Superdrome and the first race held on the new surface by Barry Stevenson

  • Ryan Crissey (Frisco Cycling Club president) hangs in a corner to remove old boards at the Superdrome. The corners of the velodrome are banked at 45 degrees, making climbing gear necessary.
