• The competitors raced in all sorts of conditions. Here it was mud and stage fright.

Tour du Faso

This fascinating race in Burkina Faso, Africa is in its 15th year this year. Societe du Tour de France press officer Denis Descamps kindly supplied some photos of the race.

Stage 5 - November 5: Ouahigouya - Yako, 71.5 km

• Christof Marien (Aliplast) - wins stage 5 ahead of Anthony Ravard (Loire Atlantique)
• More local kids - turned out to cheer on the riders in stage 5
• In the heat of the day - spectators found shade wherever they could

Stage 6a/b - November 6: Ouagadougou - Kaya, 101.5 km/Kaya - Ziniaré, 67.5 km

• Two of the large media contingent stand on a truck roof to get a better shot
• Being interviewed is a new experience for many Tour Du Faso riders who are rapidly honing their media skills
• Journalists from all over Europe are covering Faso, like these from Germany.

Stage 7 - November 7: Ouagadougou - Koupela, 136 km
