Polaris MTB Challenge, NSW, Australia, March 10-11, 2001

The overnight campsite. each pair of riders has to carry the necessary equipment for an overnight stay. The idea is not just to increase the challenge — appropriate survival gear means you can cope with a toital bike breakdown in a remote spot by camping until the rescue crew finds you. careful gear selection gets the weight of tent and kit down to about 9kg (20lb).
