lap Lyne Bessette(Cyclocrossworld.com), followed closely by Georgia Gould(Luna Women's MTB Team) was already chasing Katie Compton(Spike Professional/Primus Mootry).

man in the field, Ryan Trebon(Kona) chased back to the lead group after and early mechanical. He promptly attacked and dropped this group of three.

Gould, Bessette, and Sims
quickly separated themselves from the pack early in the race.

Maureen Bruno-Roy
(Independent Fabrications) was up amongst the leaders from the start, but a flat caused her to drop out of contention in the first lap.

Bessette went to the front
and put an attack in the latter laps of the race. Only Gould could respond.

With Sims gone,
Bessette got out of the saddle and tried to drop Gould on the asphalt climb just before the start of the bell lap.
