For the past 11 years, bike enthusiasts have trekked to the small town of Angwin for one of the most popular races in Northern California: the Napa Valley Dirt Classic. Nearly 500 racers spent their Easter Sunday at the 2003 Napa Valley Dirt Classic, held on April 20, at the campus of Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif. The top first, second and third Pro Men finishers on this 22-mile course were: Michael Broderick, Andy Jacques Maynes, and Tinker Juarez, respectively. The top Pro Women were: Mary McConneloug, Gina Hall, and Sara Ellis. Pacific Union College will once again welcome mountain bike enthusiasts to Angwin for another bike race: the Howell Mountain Challenge on August 17, 2003.
