The Nelson
Bay criterium circuit has also produced some incredible victories
in the past and last year's winner Thorsten Wilhelms, the Bosch
German rider was a great effort considering that he pushed Uros
Murn, Marcel Wust and Jans Koerts into the minor placings.
Jans Koerts has enjoyed
the stage every year that he has contested the event and set up a wonderful
win by Jan Hordijk and still managed to take second place.
The circuit is very
similar to the Warners Bay course with long straights and basically a
hot dog circuit with a roundabout at one end.
The setting however
is magnificent backdrop for the world and national television coverage
which includes live coverage on C7 sports.
