Iowa State Cyclocross Championships

The Iowa State Cyclocross Championships returned to sunny and fair Newton, Iowa on Sunday, October 24 for some close and exciting races in front of over a hundred and fifty spectators!

Kevin Hankens (Alan Factory) avenged three second-place finishes today with a convincing victory on the technical circuit at Woodland Park. He rode from the start with Jim Holmes (Alan Factory) and Lee Venteicher (Cyclefarmer.com) and opened a gap on the two mid-race. Holmes ditched Venteicher on the lap before the bell and earned 2nd place. Venteicher came across alone for third. John Olney (ICCC) finally got into a groove and left Josh Shively and Cully Todd (Team Skin) to round out the top five.

Lisa Vetterlein (DMOS/Mortgage Solutions) continues her break-through racing season by dominating the womens category with her fourth victory in four starts, over a hard-charging duo of Lindsey Wetzel (ICCC) and Tammy Meehan (ICCC).
