Here are some details on our great prizes:
The Felt AR road bike
Lead prize: US-based Felt
Bicycles is becoming one of the world's leading bicycle manufacturers,
with its bikes now being raced by the USA's Garmin-Chipotle team in the
2008 Tour de France. The team is riding the 2009 model Felt AR, which
combines Felt's expertise in time trial and track bike technology, while
maintaining the necessary ride and handling characteristics of premium
road bikes.
Felt says that wind tunnel testing has shown that the AR is not only
faster than all other road bikes in its class, in many cases it is faster
than a great number of available TT bikes. The new AR is said to offer
a 2% saving over a standard road bike when in identical conditions and
depending on actual speed and wind conditions, this equates to a savings
of 58-75 (+) seconds over the course of a one-hour ride.
The new AR frameset includes a UCI-legal aero downtube, headtube, chainstays
and fork blades, aero "wheelwell" conforming seat tube and shielded internal
cable routing. The full carbon fiber monocoque design frame is built with
Felt's highest grade of carbon fiber, Ultra Hybrid Carbon (UHC).
This frame has only just been given to the riders on Garmin-Chipotle for the
2008 TdF, and this is your chance to win the same frame, which would be a
great foundation for any 'dream bike' you wish to build.
