Quadranti regains lead

The 5th stage of Giro delle Regioni was the mountain top finish and looked to be the hardest of the tour with a cat 3, cat 2 and cat 1 climb preceding the final climb to Passo Due Santi. For us Simon Gerrans went with an early move, which stayed clear until the early part of the cat 1 climb with 30km remaining. It was every man for himself as the field split to pieces over the narrow twisting roads of the final 2 climbs. For us, Ashley Humbert again climbed the best finishing 31st at 6' from the winner, Antonio Quadranti.
