Parma, Italy, April 17, 2005

On Sunday the AIS Mapei Aqua team race close to the home base near Parma. The weather looked to have improved after Saturday's Trofeo David Susini, but it had a few surprise showers in store for everyone. The team was the same as the previous day except for the exclusion of Matt Rex due to his injuries.

The course began with flat roads before hitting some tough circuits in the hills. Then it was a flat run home with three flat 7km circuits to finish off with. Chris Sutton went away on his own at the 40km mark but was caught about 20km later. Then James Meadley joined what became the winning break of 11 riders. They were down to seven by the finish, with James running fourth. It was another great team effort with everyone contributing to the result.
