The 50 km race which went three times up the S-bends meant that the pressure was on across the board and a field of 30 riders contested the Division One race whilst 34 riders completed Division Two. In Division One, five of the six 10 minute mark riders were able to keep the pace high and stayed away from the chasing groups to cross the line in 1.23.50, taking out line honours was Greg Berryman from John Scholz and Rob Gaggini in third place. A strong solo effort from Greg Northam riding off chopping block, resulted in him riding away from the remainder of his group and catching those in front winning Division Two with an average speed of 35.1 km.
