Joe Cox heads the points table after a superb ride Wednesday in The Peel Cycling Club Bonser time Trial Series.

Cox, in his veteran years, produced his best time to date of 26min 38sec to gain maximum points in the 16 km handicap event.

Also clocking their best times in Race No8 were Darryl Harris 25min 45sec, Stan Baker 28min 45sec and Andy Bennett 28min 51sec. With two races remaining in the series, Cox leads on 30pts, Baker 29, Bennett 28 with Paul Lewis 25. Jim Matthews, Leigh Kiewiet, Dave Whitely and Phil Diesel are within striking distance of the top four.

In the 40km Chidlow/Wundowie time trial Mark Roberts posted the winning ride “burning up the bitumen” in a slick 59min 44sec. In the same event Phil Diesel was just outside the 1hr mark, delivering 1hr 2min 33sec ride, further back Joe Cox stopped the clock in 1hr 18min 44sec.
