Tassie devil: The Sid Taberlay diary 2004
24 year-old Tasmanian Sid Taberlay is a man on a mission. The current
Australian and Oceania mountain bike champion, Sid is, like so many athletes
this year, striving for a berth at the Athens Olympics Games. But his
never-say-die attitude, down-to-earth deameanour and a desert-dry sense
of humour - not forgetting a bloody big motor! - puts Sid in the best
position possible to realise a life-long dream.

Recovery
What do you do when you have a recovery day? It's all about good "Bad Time
Management"; everything happens in the slow lane today. No waking up to an alarm,
rushing through breakfast to get out on the bike. The morning went by with breakfast
and a 1.5 hour easy ride followed by lunch and checking out a couple of things
at information. Not sure where the rest of the day has gone, but it's now 2:30.
I've had pretty good "Bad Time Management" so far today. Afternoon plan is to
clean the mountain bike after yesterday's ride. If I continue in the slow lane,
that should put me around dinner time :-).
I've decided not to venture out to any events - it becomes a tiring day with
all the travel and being on your feet the whole time. Besides we get better
coverage on the telly - each channel has a different sport.
Until next time,
Sid
