Race ReportWith 16 of the 57 professional who started the race in Deinze members of the Palmans team of Walter Planckaert there was a good chance one of them would win. The most important attack came at 30 kms. A 27 strong leading group formed including Johan De Geyter, Peter Spaenhoven, Peter Verbeken and the very strong Dane Soren Petersen.
