Stage 9 - October 19 - Hall's Gap to Ararat, 49.9 kmsHome againThe afternoon's stage saw no change at the top of the general classification, however former leader Robbie McEwen lost a further 6 minutes to drop down to 17th overall, after having a fairly draining last few days. His plan now is to "just try and remain incognito in the bunch and try to pick up a couple more stages later on". The 50 km stage went to another Danish Home Jack & Jones rider, Christian Andersen who outsprinted McEwen's Jayco VIS teammate, Brad Davidson for the win. The two were part of a break with Transhepp's Ashley Sheard, and German Bjorn Glasner, which formed with about 15 km to go. Sheard was keen to take a hometown victory but was outclassed by Andersen, who continued the run of success of Home Jack & Jones. Michael Blaudzun retained the leader's jersey and is looking forward to defending it in the next "climbing" stage between Nagambie and Lake Mountain, but will be wary of the Czechs, who have Konecny in 2nd place. Tomorrow is an 80 kilometer "kermesse" race around Shepparton, though in European terms it is closer to a criterium, both in distance and circuit size. Results
