Steve Dascomb gives us a sneak peek into the first day
of the USPS presented by Berry Floor training camp, as the riders prepare their
bikes for the first true training ride of the season.
The team arrived on Monday, and this morning (Tuesday) was the
first group ride together. Today was the first day the riders received their
bikes, with the mechanics finishing the assembly over the weekend.
Ryder Hesjedal had flight delays, and did not receive his bags (and cycling
shoes), so was forced to sit out the ride. Lance Armstrong was also not inattendance,
expected to arrive on Wednesday.
Johan Bruyneel is expected to arrive a little late at the training camp, but
he has a good excuse. Johan's wife had a bouncing baby girl named Victoria on
Monday in Madrid, so a delay in getting to the camp is OK with us.
