Philip Tavell and Ivonne Kraft dominate

From the beginning of the 50 km Shoham race, Philip Tavell (Sweden), Cristian Poulsen (Denmark) and Sigvard Kukk (Estonia) took the lead. On the fourth lap, Tavell and Poulsen made their move and Kukk left behind. 100 metres before the finish line, Tavell started a sprint that finished only after the line at 2:09:54, 6 seconds before Poulsen.

In the women's race Ivonne Kraft (Team Ghost) and Mette Andersen (Denmark) were leading for most of the 44 km race, but on the last lap, Irishwoman Tarja Owens passed Andersen and finished second, 1:17 behind Kraft (2:12:25). Andersen was third.
