The women's pro field prepares to do battle
at the 2008 Wilmington Grand Prix in downtown Wilmington, Delaware.

The Juice Plus/NC Racing team set a fast pace
from the start. Its efforts would pay off nicely.

Laura Van Gilder (Cheerwine Cycling) returned
to Wilmington looking to repeat last years victory.

The first serious attach was launched
by Jennifer McRae (Advil-Chapstick).

Laura McCaughey (Juice Plus/NC Racing) and Laura Van Gilder (Cheerwine Cycling)
wasted no time in joining Jennifer McRae (Advil-Chapstick) to form the winning breakaway.

(Juice Plus/NC Racing) back into the race after a puncture.

Erica Allar (Aarons) tried to close
the gap but Advil-ChapStick and Juice Plus, who both had team-mates in the breakaway, just weren't interested in helping.

Jennifer McRae (Advil-Chapstick) did her share
of the work to ensure that the breakaway worked.

The rest of the women's field, which splintered early,
was content to let the break go.

With two laps remaining, the breakaway didn't need
to worry about the field catching them so they focused on the finish.

finds the pace of the breakaway too hot and returns to the field.

Team Time Pro Cycling put out a huge effort
lap after lap trying to pull back the breakaway.

When Russ Langley (Battley Harley Davidson)
attacked and left the breakaway, Colavita/Sutter Home gathered at the front to shut him down.

he continued to work, setting up the team's next move.

Playing off his team-mate's move, Ryan Dewald
makes an attempt to get away.

Scott Zwizanski (Bissell Pro Cycling) attacked with one lap to go
and held the gap all the way to the finish. Here he catches the tail end of the field.
