Race Report

With 16 of the 57 professional who started the race in Deinze members of the Palmans team of Walter Planckaert there was a good chance one of them would win. The most important attack came at 30 kms. A 27 strong leading group formed including Johan De Geyter, Peter Spaenhoven, Peter Verbeken and the very strong Dane Soren Petersen. The fastest in the final phases of the race was Peter Spaenhoven, who held a 10 seconds gap to win his third race for the season.
