Belluti's record
Antonella Belluti from Italy set a new World record during the track World
Cup on the velodrome Alcides Nieto Patinoin in Cali, Colombia.
During the qualification for the individual pursuit she covered the 3000 m
in 3.31,920 to better Rebecca Twigg's old record (3.36,081 from the World's
in Bogota) by more than four seconds.
Costly podium place
The third place for Brian Holm (Den, Telekom) in A Travers la Belgique will
cost him about 1000 USD. The Danish rider was fined that sum, just a little
less than his prize money, for not turning up for the victory ceremony.
