With Marykana track racing carnival only a week away, many local riders used Friday night's racing as their last hit-out fine tuning both body and bike. As always the racing was hard fought and very competitive. New rider in under 13 I. Kirby rode up a grade but proved to be a determined competitor. After a full season of racing he will show a lot of improvement. The young ladies also have been racing well with Bryanna Langford, Chrissie Cosgrove and Stacy Kramer set to sizzle come Friday night. Bryanna is in particularly good form at the moment winning both the elimination and 800m handicap events.

Under 17 boys have been looking the goods for some time and it will be no surprise if Peter Ransome, Trent Pitt, David Keevers or Fabian Spice take the podium come Friday night.

Veterans racing is set for some good performances, the Wroe boys and Trevor (Gus) Geysing all showing hot form in recent races.

Marykana will kick off at 6pm and club president Kev James says things are shaping for a huge carnival. The Maryborough District Cycle Club would like to take this opportunity to invite spectators to the carnival. An entertaining nights racing is promised and the canteen and bar will be operating during the night to ensure patrons are well catered for.
