Results and Reports for the USAPromoters wishing to submit results should send them to cyclingnews Encino VelodromeBob Hansing Memorial Cup Series, June 24, 2006Thirty racers competed in the pivotal 4th event of the 7 event Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series presented by Larabar. Todd Eaton lead a strong contingent from Team Velocity to an overall win in the 1-2-3 omnium. Junior Justin Williams of Major Motion racked up an armload of sprint leader points by winning the 10 lap scratch race, Keirin and Win & Out. Scott Evans of VRC - MS Society solidified his lead as the overall endurance leader and Kit Karzen, also of VRC - MS Society, advanced to the overall lead as the most aggressive racer in the 1-2-3 category. Chris Lindensmith (Merrill Lynch / Bicycle John's) extended his overall lead in the Bob Hansing Memorial Cup for Masters 40+ by taking first place in every race. Scott Cohen from Encino Velo broke the tie with Richard Kim of Cadence/Parkpre to take possession of the best overall sprinter title. John Stesney from Merrill Lynch/ Bicycle John's continued to amass an insurmountable looking number of points in the Most Aggressive Racer competition. Joerg Stoeffel of Encino Velo exploded into the lead of the Best Overall Sprint Competition for Category 4/5 by winning the Unknown Distance and 10 Lap Scratch Race (as well as the Miss & Out) on his way to the day's overall omnium title. Tom Rieber of Kahala La Grange advanced to the lead in the Best Endurance Racer competition on his way to taking second place in the day's overall omnium. Cathy Keeley (Southbay Wheelmen) extended her overall lead in the Bob Hansing Memorial Cup for Women by taking first place in that omnium category and Renee Zajac of Merrill Lynch / Bicycle John's became the leader in the Best Sprinter Competition for Women with the points accumulated on her way to second place in the omnium. The junior boys omnium was won by Keith Grine of Encino Velo, extending his lead as the Best Overall Junior Racer. Michael Bermudez, also of Encino Velo, became the leader in the Best Sprinter competition for Juniors with the points accumulated on his way to second place. The Encino Velo Cycling Club paid the entry fees for all junior (licensed) and youth (unlicensed) racers. The next Bob Hansing Memorial Cup Series event will be August 5th.
