Zero Gravity's new crankset and brakes caused a stir among those at Interbike,
as did SRAM's new pro road group. These new developments were complemented with
traditional offerings from Pegoretti and Independent Fabrications, both of whom
focus on the niche market for handmade, top-shelf frames made of traditional
materials. Litespeed's feathery offering, the Ghisallo, made ripples with its
attractive design and super low weight.
There were appearances from CSK and Seigler, new brands eager to create a name
for themselves, with the Seigler frame making an attractive, realistic offering
for those who want something different. Tyler Hamilton's Mt Washington Hillclimb
bike, in all its lightweight glory and sporting logos for his foundation made
it onto the floor, as did Ridley and Fondriest's latest bikes. Some of the Fondriest
paint jobs looked like they belonged on a Colnago, the Italian manufacturer
going for the ultra-artistic approach. Photos by Jon Devich.
