Offset BB innovations

SKF is the top global supplier of bearings and seals - the Swedish company was founded 98 years ago in Gothenburg. Although SKF entered the bicycle bottom bracket market twenty years ago, SKF's expertise has found a new approach to the bicycle's so-called central movement. SKF's new bicycle bottom bracket has a new bearing concept, where they take into account the difference in loads on the right (load bearing) and left (non load bearing) side of the BB by placing roller bearings on the right, ball bearings on the left, then sealing them in a one piece shell with an axial seal to keep water and dirt from entering, which SKF says will last 10 years under normal conditions. Providing unmatched ridigity and strength, SKF's new BB bracket is available in three levels of quality for freeride, MTB & road in ISIS Drive and ISO and square taper.
