For Ernesto Colnago Ernesto Colnago will supplied his new C-50 model for the Landbouwkredeit-Colnago squad in 2004. Colnago began building bikes a half-century ago and his C-50 is the latest evolution of the innovative carbon fibre bicycle technology that began with the C-40 model ten years ago.

"This is a team I like to work with very much," said Colnago "They really do a lot with what they have and we're expecting very good things from them this year." The new Landbouwkredeit-Colnago's C-50 are equipped with Campagnolo's Record 10 speed group and a clean new Landbouwkredeit-Colnago team livery that shows off the beauty of the Colnago C-50's natural carbon fibre, Ernesto Colnago is hoping for more wins in 2004 to add to the already formidable lifetime total aboard bicycles bearing his name.

For the 2004 cycling season, Cicli Pinarello of Treviso will again sponsor local Treviso firm Fassa Bortolo's cycling team, a squad that just happens to be the number 1 ranked team in the world. Fausto Pinarello told Cyclingnews that "we are very proud to be associated with Fassa Bortolo again; we've been the team bicycle sponsor since the beginning in 2004 and hope to continue to be part of their success."

Alessandro Petacchi's sweet new Pinarello Dogma, with it's unique magnesium tubing was parked outside the Fassa Bortolo presentation so Cyclingnews managed to get a few quick pictures before Petacchi loaded it in his Porsche Carrera 4S for the drive back to La Spezia. Fassa Bortolo's 25-man team will compete on Pinarello Dogma and Prince LS frames, with the carbon fibre Montello reserved for time trials. Campagnolo is back as official component supplier, and for all those miles put in by the Silver Team, Selle Italia will be the crucial point of contact. Mavic will provide race wheels and Vittoria is the rubber that meets the road. Fassa Bortolo's other sponsors are Look (pedals), Elite (bottles and trainers), Sigma Sport (cycle computers) and Deda.

Now team sponsors for Fassa Bortolo in 2004 are Nalini technical wear, who replaced Pearl Izumi, Giro helmets, zerorh+ eyewear and Helly/Hansen's Lifa sports underwear.
