We're having our first training camp of 2006 in Silver City, Nevada right now. Generally, we ride, ride and ride more; but sometimes, those who are disheveled and unkempt, such as I, experience tribulations of somewhat greater woe.

For instance, I came on the team with hair of substantially greater length than that of my comrades, lingering a good 4-6 inches beyond my scalp. I received word from numerous sources that a hair cut would be in line, however, the days were short and the rides were long, so I spent most of my down time on the couch. It seems that, indeed, I misjudged the importance of the cut, for at nightfall the team led a unilateral assault on my hair with the help of an electric razor. I must say that the onslaught impressed me with its solidarity, for within moments the hair that lingered about was on the ground.

Tomorrow is a new day and I look forward to testing the new hair - after all, it's lighter and more aerodynamic.
