Rider Profiles

Name of rider: Nathan "Chookman" Russell

Nationality: Australian

DOB: 30/01/73 - the oldest child on the team

Years in Team Cyclingnews.com- Down Under: First year.

Aims for this year: To make the most of this opportunity and become the best all round rider I can be.also to encourage a united strength amongst the the team to achieve a common goal... wins and podiums

When did you start cycling, and why: I cant remember last weekend, let alone what was going on when I was thirteen.

Biggest inspiration: The buzz. If you race you know what the buzz in the final is.

Best experience in racing bikes so far: Any solo win is tops and a gallop kicks ass but not getting splattered out training is pretty memorable... And the San Fran Grand Prix with Lance and co. was cool.

How's life in Belgium and where do you live? I have been here a few times now but not with a Div 3 team so this a little differant in that I have less money to spend at parties and the good life. The wonderful super v will arrive here soon and support me in this mad quest.

Learning Flemish (if English-speaking): It comes back fairly quickly but to be honest theres not much need for it.

Favourite bar if visiting your home town: The Monkey Bar at Chatawoood.

Favourite (Belgian) beer: More keen on the vino.

Most essential non-cycling piece of equipment: Mango body butter!

Latest CD you bought - Was it any good: I'm listening to music online.
