Best male road rider

Lance Armstrong's huge popularity in his home nation has just edged him ahead of Erik Zabel in the poll for best male road rider of the year with another Erik – Dekker – taking third place. There couldn't be a bigger contrast between these two riders in the closest vote of the poll so far, with Armstrong centering his season round the Tour de France and Zabel throwing himself at everything from his natural habitat of sprint finishes to hilly road races and Six Day racing.

Jan Ullrich lands fourth after his mighty battle with Armstrong in the 2001 Tour and Levi Leipheimer completes the top five.

Full Speed Ahead's innovative headsets and transmission components have become an increasingly popular alternative over the last several years. The acceptance of the company's carbon cranks by the Bonjour team for 2002 shows the confidence top riders and their mechanics have in these bike parts from Kenmore, WA.

FSA makes cranks and bottom brackets for road and mountain bikes, and a full range of headsets.
