CONTENTS

REPORT - Milan-San Remo

The Primavera was finally on the TV and our high expectations were not lost. There was a major fall on the Capo Berta which was fatal for the favourite Vandenbroucke and the weather was beautiful. Erik Zabel repeated his 1997 victory in San Remo.

MONIQUE KNOL MEETS GERT SLUIS, Mister Rabo-plan

Monique Knol went to Utrecht and spoke to Gert Sluis in the glassed Rabobank palace. Sluis is the architect of the Rabobank cycling plan and sees it as the cradle for the reconstruction of national cycling

DOSSIER - The 1998 Classic Timetable
On Sunday April 5 the traditional top classics start with the Tour of Flanders. Then there are three further classics until our own Amstel Gold Race on Saturday April 25. We have compiled a Classics timetable with the parcours, the route schedules, the past winners and top 10 from last year.

THE BIKE - Johan Museeuw's Colnago

He is one of the best riders in the classics. This year Johan has been riding a Colnago, the full-blooded Italian thoroughbred. Bart de Schampheleire asked him about his life on the bike.

LEGEND - Welcome to the Hell!

For all cycling enthusiasts, but also the riders, Paris-Roubaix is the best of all the classics. Marcel Slagman went away last year to follow the race over the cobbles with his camera. The result of his investigation into the Hell of the North is in this edition.
