This season the small cross world has seen the rise of two world class
riders from Belgium, Sven Nijs and Bart Wellens. Under the direction
of Eric de Vlaeminck, the former cross star, they have become formidable
members of the well established order this winter. Wim Amels spoke with them.

For Richard Groenendaal can the 1997-98 season really be it.
The world cup is within grasp and the final rankings in the Superprestige
can hardly elude him. Monique Knol spoke with him in Sint-Michielsgestel
and found a contented man.

Mario Cipollini was racing at the Brinta Beac Classic.
In the rain and wind, Macho Mario raced at Scheveningen with
thousands of enthusiasts watching. The one consolation: at the end he was
interviewed by our sweet Marcia Jansen.

special example in Maastricht: the record-setting bike of the oldest Dutch
