CONTENTS

Two guys from The Hague meet each other

In 1980, Joop Zoetemelk won the Tour de France and Michael Boogerd was an 8-year old lad, who entered his first cycling race. Perhaps they came across each other during training with Joop living in Rijpwetering, only a bow shot away from the Boogerd's home town of Den Haag. For this Tour Special we brought the two orange Tour riders together.

The Ullrich Enigma

Two years ago, Jan Ullrich debuted with a second place in the Tour de France after his Danish team leader Bjarne Riis. Last year he took the leadership for Telekom and the 23-year old won his first Tour. After indulging himself in all the festivities which followed everyone is now asking: is Ullrich ready for his third Tour?

INTERVIEW - Richard and Alex
The most important transfer this was was that of Alex Zulle from ONCE to Festina. The Swiss rider who began as a professional in 1991 for the team of Manolo Saiz, felt the need for a change last year. Now he will ride next to Richard Virenque in the Tour. What do they think of this?

NOSTALGIA - Retour à Paris

Almost 30 years after his surprising Tour victory in 1968 we Went with Jan Janssen to a special place in the annuls of Dutch cycling: the small cycling track in the forest of Vincennes in Paris. It was an emotional return to Paris.

INTERVIEW - Italy's yellow hope

In the autumn of 1995, it seemed that there would be an early and dramatic end to his career. But Marco Pantani has come back after his shocking leg injuries. Last year he stood on the Tour de France podium after he had won two mountain stages. Mama mia!
