Steve Hed started designing and producing wheels in 1985, beginning what was to become his vocation in humble fashion, working on an aero wheel in his garage at home. This quickly led to an interest in all things aerodynamic. Detailed study of the subject followed, eventually focusing on aerodynamic principles in relation to bicycle wheels. By this time, the initial interest had developed into an obsession. Many more home grown wheels followed, and then Steve paid the first of dozens of visits to a wind tunnel. His ideas began to take shape. Over the next few years, the business grew, and more expertise was introduced in the form of carbon fiber and resin specialists.

Now, 20 years later, HED cycling products designs and manufactures 16 different models of composite wheels, exported worldwide and used in events from the Tour de France to the Hawaii Ironman .

H3 - The H3C wheel came about when the top teams in the pro peloton wanted a lighter TT wheel. The shape is unchanged from Hed's standard H3 wheel, but for the all carbon model they have replaced the aluminium rim with carbon. The result? 170g less rotating mass, still the most aerodynamic spoked wheel in the world. The front wheel weighs in at 760g and the rear at 830g.

Hed Aero Bar - The carbon aero bar is the result of more than 50 hours of wind tunnel testing. To decrease both drag and weight, Hed has integrated brake levers. To keep you aero and powerful, the extensions and armrests are adjustable in all planes. Directional layup of the carbon fiber helps absorb vibration for ride comfort and control. The Aerobar now comes standard with S-Bend extensions. The extensions are available in carbon fiber or aluminum. .

Hed Flip Lite Bars - This simple and lightweight clip-on aerobar fits most standard size handle bars. It will transform your everyday road bike into a machine worthy of competing against the clock. It has CNCed aluminum brackets with carbon fiber extensions and arm cups. The armrests are hinged to flip away from the bar tops for climbing. Paired with cowhorns, the Flip Lite makes a very light aerobar setup for a dedicated TT bike andcomes standard with S-Bend extensions in carbon fiber or aluminum.
