Meath, July 27, 2002By Tommy Campbell, Irish Independent, Evening Herald, Sunday Independent A & b race - 62 miles Kieron McMahon of the earl of Desmond club in Tralee scored a notable Success for the club yesterday when he won the inaugural staging of the Bh Raleigh GP in Rathmoylan, co. Meath. With a strong field assembled, and action from the off, a group of 5 Went clear comprising Stephen O'Sullivan, Conor Murphy, Dave smith, Aidan Crowley and Paul griffin they established a lead of over a minute, But at 35 miles they were joined by a group containing local favourite, Laurence Roche and Mark Kiernan, Kieron McMahon, Robert Whelan. The race Winning break was established as the lead group turned for Coole, and Only Stephen o' Sullivan, Conor Murphy and team-mates McMahon and Griffin could stick the pace. They maintained the lead into the finish in Rathmolyon, with McMahon taking the race from Griffin(Earl of Desmond) And Conor Murphy showing O'Sullivan a turn of speed to take third. Behind Them, the chasers were lead in by Mark Kiernan of Totalcycling.com from Aidan Crowley of Cycleways.
