Mick Cahill MemorialBanteer, Co. Cork, April 14, 2002By Tommy Campbell, Irish Independent, Evening Herald, Sunday Independent For the first time this season the familiar tunic of the Cidona Carrick lads was missing from the podium yesterday. Ciaran McMahon of the Earl of Desmond Tralee Bicycle Club was recording a first win of the season for the newly formed Earl of Desmond club, which was launched in February. In the end McMahon had to be at his best to edge out Aidan Crowley of the Cycleways Lee Strand team as the pair sprinted shoulder to shoulder for the Mick Cahill Trophy, held in Banteer, Co. Cork. In third place was Dave Nugent, who made the long trek from his base in Co. Galway. Although they did not succeed, John O'Shea of the Cidona Carrick team just missed a podium place, coming in just behind Nugent.
