Uhl too quick for Mayolo-Pic and Wreedman

Sarah Uhl (Dansko/Wheelworks) won today's round of the Wendy's Classic with Tina Mayolo-Pic (Diet Rite) second and Nicole Freedman (RONA) making the podium for the second consecutive day.

Mayolo-Pic now leads Freedman by two points in General Classification. Wendy's International is a series of six races with General Classification determined by adding points earned in each of the races.

Today's race was essentially drag racing on two wheels, with the riders competing head-to-head on a straight-line, 300-meter course. Races were held by successive six-rider heats, with the first three of each heat advancing to the next round.

In the final, Freedman and Mayolo-Pic had a better start than Uhl, but Uhl put on the turbo and caught, then passed the two others thanks to pure speed.
