Tour of Qinghai Lake - 2.5China, July 27 - August 3, 2002Main Page Results Previous stage Stage 9 - August 3: Xining City circuit race, 100 kmAustralian team reportBy Brian Stephens, AIS U23 coach Today's stage attracted huge crowds as have all the stages of this tour. The circuit was an extended version of the one used for the 1st stage. There was plenty of attacks throughout the stage but nothing was allowed to get more than 30 seconds before it was brought back by the controlling American and Collstrop riders. David Pell had a big go with 4km remaining but was caught at 2km to go. Finally it was a Korean rider who gave the sprinters the slip and won with a small gap.
