Victoria Pendleton (Great Britain), Guo Shuang (China), Anna Meares (Australia), Willy Kanis (Netherlands), Jennie Reed (USA), Clara Sanchez (France), Natalia Tsylinskaya (Belarus) and Simona Krupeckaite (Lithuania) advanced to the quarter finals, set for Monday.

- Victoria Pendleton (Great Britain) easily beat Sakie Tsukuda (Japan) in the first round.
