Davis still in yellow, as Schulze pips him at the line

The riders woke to a perfect morning from their Qinghai Lake beds Sunday morning, and a maximum temperature of 20 degrees Celsius was expected. And the day didn't disappoint with clear skies and virtually no wind all day as the race continues to round Qinghai Lake for stage two.
Andre Schulze (Wiesenhof Felt) won the stage in a bunch sprint into Bird Island ahead of yellow jersey wearer Allan Davis (Discovery Channel) and Alberto Loddo (Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Selle Italia).
The riders took of from the township of Qinghai Lake and straight away attacks were on to try and form a break on the relatively flat stage. Around 20km into the stage a break was made by three riders, Rhys Pollock (DFL-Cyclingnews), Nick Reistad (Jelly Belly) and Mikhail Timochine (Russian National Team).
Once again Discovery Channel remained at the front of the peloton to protect Davis' yellow jersey. The breakaway trio managed to build a one minute advantage over the bunch and hovered at that distance for most of the day but were caught with 15km till the finish line at Bird Island where the race ended in a bunch sprint.
Schulze took delight in his win and saluted the crowd after crossing the line.
