Stage 3 - January 30: Gerik - Tanah Merah, 172.5 km

There is a 112-kilometre long transition between stages. The riders will need to have as much rest before facing the longest and arguably one of the toughest stages on the Tour. The climbers will have a chance to flex their muscles here where they will find themselves up against a Category One climb as they cross the Titiwangsa Range that takes them over to the East Coast of the peninsula. The cyclists will have to be in the best conditions to tackle a 30-kilometre climb which peaks out at 1,070 meters. The Yellow Jersey is expected to change hands at the end of this gruelling stage.
