Stage 8 - February 4: Kuala Kubu Bahru - Genting, 97.9 km

After a night's stay at Awana Genting, the riders will face the most daunting route of the Tour, the treacherous climb up Genting. This is the first time the race will begin at Kuala Kubu Bahru. Unlike previous years the Hors Category Genting climb may not decide the overall winner of the Tour as there are two more stages to run. As usual it will be a back-breaking climb where only the best will prevail. The big names of the Tour will be aiming to conquer Genting in the hope that it will lead them to the overall title. The toughest part of this route will be the final 36-kilometre climb to the peak of Malaysia's most popular highland resort located 1710 metres above sea level.
