"Liberation, confirmation and realisation" were the words Davide Rebellin
used to sum up his three big victories this week. First there was the Amstel
Gold Race, then Flèche Wallonne, and now Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Only a handful
of riders have won the Fleche/Liège double, and no-one has ever won all
three in the same year. Cyclingnews' Chief Online Editor Jeff Jones
was there to witness each victory, and reports
from Liège about Rebellin's amazing week. |

US Postal Service's Floyd
Landis has been given greater freedom to test his own legs in the
early season, before returning to the duties of being a key support rider
for Land Armstrong in the Tour de France. Landis has enjoyed the opportunity,
and after solid performances in the Amstel Gold Race and Flèche
Wallonne, he looks forward to Liège-Bastogne-Liège before
taking a well-earned break. Story by Chris Henry.

After strong performances in Flanders, Gent-Wevelgem and Paris-Roubaix,

rankings. His future ambitions in the Ronde and Roubaix remain sky-high,
but Flecha knows his role as a domestique in races not perfectly suited
to him, such as tomorrow's Liège-Bastogne-Liège, where he will ride at
the service of Belgian Frank Vandenbroucke. Story by Hernan Alvarez Macias. |
