Tour of Britain - 2.3Great Britain, September 1-5, 2004Main Page Results Previous Stage Next Stage Stage 2 - September 2: Leeds - Sheffield., 172kmBy Shane Stokes Day two begins in Millennium Square, Leeds and heads out through some tough Yorkshire country on the way towards the day's end in Sheffield. In contrast to stage one the main climbs come towards the end of the day's racing, making them much more likely to play a part in determining the stage outcome. The first of three bonus sprints comes twenty kilometres into the stage at Otley, following which the category two ascents of Cow and Calf (32.7 km) and Oxenhope (61.2 km) rear up. The second bonus sprint at Huddersfield will be disputed just after the halfway point of this 172.3 kilometre stage. From that point on things get really interesting with the gruelling first category climbs of Holme Moss (109.8 km) and Snake Pass (131.2 km) plus the final bonus sprint at Glossop (124.6 km) all coming before the finish in Sheffield.
