Stage 1 - June 9: Mesabi Trail Time Trial, 5.4 miles
The 5.4km prologue which was stage two in last years race, is set on the Mesabi Trail, a trail that was built specifically for bike riders and runs for 132 miles in northern Minnesota between Grand Rapids and Ely. Last year the short undulating event was won by Tom Danielson and Manon Jutras when they were both riding for Team Saturn. This year, the women race the time trial on the Wednesday evening, but the men do the time trial on Thursday morning and back up in the afternoon for the Iron Horse Range Road Race.
