Stage 1: Tuesday Jan 21, Adelaide street race, 50km

Live report    Results & report    Next stage

7.30pm – approx 8.40pm
Tuesday 20 January

More than 70,000 fans flocked to the East End to see the electrifying first stage of the 2003 Jacob’s Creek Tour Down Under, and the fun returns to the same Adelaide street circuit in 2004.

Grab a bite in the East End restaurant precinct and take your positions early to watch riders take off from Rundle Road, heading west. See them jostle for lead position as they loop around the end of East Tce towards the straights of Bartels Road, Dequetteville Tce and back to Rundle Road.

Riders race the 2km circuit around Rymill Park 25 times with SA Lotteries sprint points up for grabs on laps 10 (at the 20km mark) and 20 (at the 40km mark) – both located at the start/finish arch. Stay on after the race to cheer on the Stage winners at the presentations in Rymill Park.
