Well, my dearies, before I go, I must tell you zee sad little story about a young Francais that I met in a tiny mountain village along the Tour. I was again working, I mean walking, down zee street, when a handsome young French man came running up to me with cries of joy. Euro signs appeared before my eyes, but he only saw me as a Beautiful Podium Girl - I wore my green outfit that day. He sat on zee curb and zee tears ran down his handsome cheek as he told me his sad tale.

Being a true native of France, he only wanted in life to be a Pro Cyclist and win the Tour de France for his country. Alas, his fate was to be a postman in a tiny hamlet in France. Then one day, he was reading the villager's mail, as he always did, and he saw that the mighty US Postal Service Professional Cycling Team had a real mailman on their team. A dedicated cyclist and a good fellow, greatly admired by the Americans.

Hope leaped within the heart of zees Francais, and he began to train. He rode his route twice every day of the week and kept his bicycle shiny clean. He rode and rode and rode, and waited and waited and waited for Le Post to sign him up. With tearful eyes, he told me that they do not answer his letters. How could I tell him that Le Poste in France does not have a cycling team?

My heart went out to zees fellow, so I give him zee Podium kiss, kiss, kiss. Zut alors, he jumped up and ran into a nearby cottage. So I have only zee picture of his bike to show you, because dearies, I think he was making zee Special Delivery.

A Votre Sante,
PGGB
