Alas, my dearies, zee time has come to say au revoir. It has been so sweet meeting you behind the Podium like this. You know zat I love you more than zee others. Oui, would I tell zee lie?
For zee Podium Girls, zee Tour ends with Grand Hopes To Be Discovered by movie or television producers, or to become a famous, rich fashion model - all because of our brief moments on the Podium. Frankly, for some of us, the Grand Hope is that we did not catch anything, in zee other brief moments.
Next year, in 2003, we will be too old to stand beside the handsome riders on zee Podium. Our feet and legs are gone from climbing up and down zee Podium in our leetle strappy high heels. We will be replaced, as we always are, by zee gorgeous young ones. New Podium Girls in red, white, green and zee coveted yellow outfits.
Ah, my dearies, only fate can know whether we shall ever meet again. Should you see me on zee street this year, drop a couple of Euros in my tattered Podium Purse, for old times sake.
